Role:
Being a Class 2 Driver at our company is not just a job; it's a commitment to excellence and a mission to redefine the standards of delivery services. As a crucial member of our logistics team, you are not merely driving packages from point A to point B; you are instrumental in shaping the customer experience and setting new benchmarks in the industry.
In this role, you will be directly responsible for the efficient and timely delivery of parcels within the Suffolk and Essex area. The successful candidate will be the face of our company, embodying our commitment to unparalleled service and precision in every delivery. You will autonomously plan your routes, handle loading/unloading tasks with care, and drive our company-provided 7.5 lorry responsibly.
Responsibilities:
Efficient Route Planning: Utilise an optimiser app to plan the most efficient route, ensuring timely deliveries (iOS operating system recommended).
Careful Package Handling: Safely load and unload packages from the company-provided 7.5-tonne lorry, maintaining the integrity of the items throughout the process.
Safe Driving Practices: Operate the 7.5-tonne lorry in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all traffic regulations and company safety protocols.
On-Time Deliveries: Execute deliveries to various locations, following predetermined schedules and instructions.
Customer Interaction: Maintain friendly interactions and professionalism with customers, embodying our commitment to excellent service.
Communication: Report any delivery-related problems promptly to the team, contributing to swift issue resolution.
Record Keeping: Keep accurate records of all deliveries, including proof of delivery.
Vehicle Maintenance: Perform daily walk-around checks on the vehicle, reporting any defects promptly.
Compliance: Adhere to the Drivers' Hours Regulations and the Working Time Directive.
Timesheet Completion: Complete weekly timesheets detailing drivers' hours.
Results:
Stops and Mileage Stats: Successfully handle approximately 25 stops and cover up to 120 miles per day within the designated delivery area.
Delivery Deadlines: Meet every delivery deadline, ensuring customer satisfaction and setting new benchmarks for service excellence.
Effective Routing: Demonstrate strategic route planning, optimising your time and vehicle resources.
Package Integrity: Maintain a record of zero incidents of package damage during loading/unloading tasks, ensuring the safe transport of items.
Vehicle Integrity: Maintain a record of zero incidents of vehicle damage while delivering. Keep the vehicle clean, tidy, and well-maintained, promptly reporting any issues identified during daily walk-around checks for resolution.
Legal Adherence: Maintain a record of zero infringements to the Working Time Directive (WTD) and Drivers' Hours regulations, ensuring full compliance with legal requirements.
Positive Customer Feedback: Uphold a professional demeanor, contributing to positive customer feedback and satisfaction.
Effective Communication: Regularly communicate with the team to address and resolve any delivery-related challenges promptly.
Accurate Records: Keep precise records of all deliveries, enhancing the overall efficiency of the logistics process.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Class 2 Driver.
Possession of a valid UK driver's licence, UK Digi Tacho Card, and UK Driver CPC Card.
Proficient in route planning and skilled at utilising GPS systems.
Ability to operate a 7.5 tonne lorry, including loading and unloading tasks.
Efficient time management and organisational skills.
Dedicated to providing precise and secure deliveries.
Strong interpersonal skills, maintaining a friendly and communicative approach.
Capability to work independently and consistently meet punctuality standards.
Available Monday to Friday, starting around 8:00 AM and finishing no later than 5:00 PM (schedule may vary based on experience and knowledge of the delivery area).
